Agency: World's largest cricket stadium, Motera in Ahemdabad has been accused of having a bad pitch. Team England, who faced an embarrassing defeat in the third test match against India has softly accused the pitch of being unfavourable for fast bowlers and batsman.
Team England, too has asked ICC to have proper inspection over the pitch. Answering about the standard of pitch, Joe Root, the captain of English team, in a post match statement, said it's not players but ICC, who should have the proper inspection.
Sunil Gavaskar, the legendary Indian batsman has strongly opposed England's Captain's statement. He said- "Rohit Sharma scored half centuries in this pitch, so did Jack Crawley of England. But England on the other hand didn't attempt scoring much run, instead they were busy saving wickets."
He further claimed that Aksar Patel and Ashwin did play a great match, which makes this pitch very sound and proper.
But, the statistic says something different. Of all 30 wickets in a match, 28 were taken by spin bowlers.
